Bookworm Nerd is definitely back!

Read at least one book per month.

Yep, that was my new year's resolution last year. Why you may ask? It's because the past few years, I had been so busy balancing my day job and fangirl duties that I actually forgot my hobby that made me wear glasses permanently since high school: READING

Even when I bought my Kindle Paperwhite last June 2013, I was not able to read as many books as I would have liked. Ironic, isn't it? I bought a Kindle so that I could read to my heart's content all the book that I would've wanted. True, I read one or two books when it arrived but after that, my Kindle sat untouched for like a year on my desk. And to think I bought it for a reason. Haha.

It wasn't until September last year that I made a full comeback as a bookworm. Once I started reading something, I just won't stop. Even if I have to sleep late at night or early in the morning, I just have to make it to the end of the book. And my day job did not even kept me from reading. Whenever there were lean hours or during my lunch break, I would take my Kindle out of my bag and read a chapter or two. It's like I'm possessed by the bookworm spirits (if they exist) coz once I ended one book, I went looking for another. I cut myself off in the social networks. I rarely update my facebook, instagram and twitter. My friends sometimes wonder where I was coz I rarely update anymore. I don't even watch TV anymore and trust me, I'm a couch potato.

And with that, here's the list of the books I read last year:
  • Wicked by Gregory Maguire
  • Percy Jackson and the Olympians series by Rick Riordan (five books)
  • Heroes of Olympus series by Rick Riordan (five books)
  • The Best of Me by Nicholas Sparks
  • If I Stay by Gayle Forman
  • Where She Went by Gayle Forman
  • Malory-Anderson series by Johanna Lindsey (eleven books)
  • Every Breath You Take by Judith McNaught
  • Foster Family saga by Judith McNaught (two books)
  • Double Standards by Judith McNaught
Total Number of books: 29.
Average number of days it took me to read: two days.

Aside from Wicked, I read the rest late September till December. Now that I think about it, possessed is even an understatement.

I know some people had read twice the number of books I read the past year but I have to say, this was an achievement for me. I even reached my quota of twelve books and doubled it. Haha.

I think for this year, I'll still repeat the same resolution as the past year. Though I know I'll surpass the quota again coz my reading list is already full. Haha

:)
